1. Ask for the person
“Hey, may I speak with Robert?”
If you don’t get the person you are calling for follow up with asking, “who am I speaking with?” or you could ask, “am I speaking with the owner of (fill in the address of the property)?”
2. Introduce yourself
Make sure they understand you are a licensed real estate agent.
3. Give back their time
This is very simple, but so many agents miss this important step.
“Hey, is now a good time? Did I catch you at a bad time? Can I call you back at a different time that is better?”
4. Neutralize the conversation
Now that you have their attention, try and make them laugh, or try and relate with them. You can do this by saying something along the lines of, “I’m cheering for the Rebels tonight, who are you cheering for?”
Hopefully, they will tell you, and you can maybe relate over sports. If they don’t like football, then hopefully, they will change the conversation in the direction of something they do like.
5. Get to the point
“Hey, you’ve got a property, are you interested in selling it?”
