Andrew Fogliato, founder of Just Sell Homes, shares how to create a powerful on-line presence.
In today’s world, rarely do people hire out anything without first doing on-line research. Does your online presence represent you well? To begin making sure you are putting your best self forward, Fogliato suggests analyzing who your audience is. Who is your ideal client, and what are they looking for? Formulate your online presence to attract and target those people. First, you need to put yourself in your future client’s shoes. What would they think works, flows, and what doesn’t seem to work?
Use a Heat Map
Fogliato uses an online heat map that tracks the parts of his site that are getting the most traffic. For example, after noticing that the tab “hire us” was not being clicked, they changed the wording to “about us” and noticed a 50% increase in traffic.
What do you look like on-line?
Google your name. This will show you what comes up when others google you. What about when your phone number is googled? Make sure that clients are seeing the best you, and also the most real you. Who are you portraying to be online? Is it really you? Show your humor and personality, others will appreciate it. The results of being yourself versus trying to project a bigger and more successful company will pay off.
Building Your Image
If you don’t have content of your own to post, reach out to other agents and ask if you can feature their listings. Fogliato began by doing just this, and he was able to get traffic to his site, sometimes even more than the original listing agent themselves.
What type of content should you post? Fogliato urges agents to do what is comfortable for them. There is an audience for both video and article/blog content, as well as podcasts. Focus on building your personal brand before building your business. As you build and show who you are online, your business will profit and your efforts will pay off.
