1. Flexible Work Zones
“Gone are the days of the office right off of the front door,” says Jana Uselton, founder of Home Staging and ReDesign Association.
Many people now are using extra bedrooms, maybe a space set up in the backyard, as their go to home offices. Keep in mind that buyers want to see several options of what could possibly be used as their new office.
“You must paint the picture that there are several functional areas people can work in.”
Also keep in mind people are turned off by dark wood everywhere in the home. They want to see light, bright areas.
2. Resort Style Outdoors
“People are looking for the inside/outside, cohesive living space,” reminds Uselton.
You have to bring retreat like areas outdoors. People want to eat and work outside. Since many are foregoing their vacations, they want their homes to feel like a good alternative staycation. Point out to buyers how homes can feel like a resort
3. Grand Central Kitchens
“Food preparation is now an event as we are cooking at home more than ever. You must have a kitchen that feels roomier. It has to feel like there can be more than one cook in there at a time,” says Uselton.
4. Safe and Secure
The home has to be a smart home. Do you have a nest that operates the home?
5. De-Compress Zones
“You need to showcase reading areas, a yoga area in a flexible space. Make sure you stage these areas as they are a high priority these days for those looking to buy a home,” said Uselton.
Staying well aware of buyer trends will help you stage the perfect home.
