Ryan Seratius, Rett Harmon, Nicole Nicolay, Tommy Choi and Kristin Smith, share how to involve yourself in your community while building your business.
Nichole Nicolay (@nik_nik)
Nicolay has been a realtor for six years and is the cofounder of Love Livermore.
“We help you love where you live, even more!” This is the mission of this interactive group that allows the community to grow closer while staying focused on the positive.
“In the first year, we had 10,000 people in our city join our group. The whole mission and premise is to spread positivity and love in Livermore. We don’t sell in the group, we only talk about the people, places and experiences,” says Nicolay.
Her involvement in the community has opened many doors for her business. The group has allowed her to meet so many new people looking for houses.
Tommy Choi
Choi involves himself with his clients through social media. He posts daily Instagram stories, focusing on things he thinks the community will value.
“I hardly ever post about real estate. Instead, I use storytelling to document my journey of who I am.”
It’s important that you get your name out there. Social media will help boost how recognizable you are in the community.
Rett Harmon
Harmon encourages realtors to think of themselves as a media company first. He has involved himself in the community through local events such as “shop with a cop”. Harmon schedules one day a month to turn into a media company for his town. As an agent, he finds what is going on in town, then he figures out a way to plug himself into it. He believes the return he gets is people will see how hard he helps others in their town look good by highlighting good works.
Kristin Smith
Smith reaches others in her community by connecting with investors. She has found her niche and lends assistance to those in her area looking to build their wealth through real estate. She educates and informs her community about the importance of adding homes to their investment portfolios.
Smith is also a co-owner of a media production company which has opened many doors for her real estate business. Niche marketing is a powerful and effective tool that allows agents to share something they love that grows their presence in the community. It helps to keep you engaged and loving what you do.
